Hey our friends, today we're going to draw ice cream yeah we hope you're going to follow along with us we're going to draw in pixel art style and parents you can download the grid that we're going to use in this lesson from the link below this video you head over to our website download it and then print it out and then follow along with us you ready to start yeah once you print it out you can draw directly on this paper but we're going to do a little trick and add our marker paper on top see how the
grid still shows through yeah then we can flip our paper over we'll line up the grid and then use a piece of tape to hold it in place so that it doesn't move when we're drawing we're using our alcohol-based art for kids Hub markers to draw with if you have the same set you can use the same colors and follow along with us or you can use a different brand and just pick colors that match or you can use something completely different like color pencils or even crayons we're going to start with our black marker
down here at the bottom row we're going to count over from this corner seven blocks or pixels so 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 and then we'll color in the eighth pixel so there's seven empty blocks and then we'll color in this one so I outlined it and then we can color it in solid black this is the start or the bottom of our cone then we're going to start on the left side we'll draw up two lines or two blocks then we'll go out one block back down two and then connect in where we started let's draw that same rectangle
over two pixels over here on the right side because our ice cream is symmetrical we'll repeat a lot of the same steps twice okay let's color in those two pixels next let's start on the outside corner again and we'll go up two out one down two and then back in one one then we'll repeat that same step over here on the right side before we color those in let's do that again we'll go up two out one down and back in and the same thing over here then we're going to do this one more time except we're going to go up
three pixels out one down three and then connect back in and if we ever go too fast what can our our friends do pause the video yeah for extra time then let's do the same thing over here up three out one down three and back in this is that shape of our cone nice job now let's color in all of these shapes now let's draw the detail on top of our cone we'll start right here at the very top on the inside and we're going to draw a line over three blocks then down one and back out three blocks then we're going to skip a block
and outline one pixel here then let's draw a line right here straight across to the other side then we'll go up one pixel and we'll draw another line all the way across now let's color in those shapes we're going to have the ice cream melting right here that's why it doesn't go all the way across now let's draw the ice cream on top of our cone we'll start on the outside and we're going to repeat the same thing go up two out one down two and back in and we'll do that same
shape over here so I'm going to go a little faster just because we're repeating the same steps but if you need to remember to pause the video now we're going to draw the top going over to the other side so this time we're going to draw two but we're going in instead of out and then let's do the same over here we'll draw in so we have two pixels right there now we're going to go in again but this time only one pixel now we're ready to draw a line all the way across to the other
side then we'll draw a line up we could draw a line up over here too and then let's connect those two lines at the very top now let's color in all of those rectangles Hadley we did it there's the outside shape of our ice cream cone and ice cream it looks really cool except we still need to color it yeah let's start with our 24 this is an orange brown color and we're going to color our Cone first we'll color in this shape and we'll speed this up so remember to pause the video next up here we're going to going
to draw a line at the bottom or to connect those two pixels then we'll also draw a line right here and let's draw a line here and then over let's color in this pixel and then we'll color in this shape this big long rectangle right here next we're ready to color in our ice cream and let's color it pink but our our friends could change change the color to any flavor they want let's start by drawing the Highlight we're going to make our ice cream a little shiny and this pixel will go down one
right here and we'll draw over two and up two this will make an backwards L shape we're going to leave those pixels white for the Highlight we should also add sprinkles yeah let's do it put our pink off to the side and we'll add the sprinkles first I picked out art for kids colors 15 red 33 yellow and 312 which is kind of a different blue and we can mix up these colors I'm going to start with the blue and color maybe this pixel first you could change where you're going to add these I'm going to
mix them up so they're scattered on the ice cream and oh maybe this pixel to right here color that one in and maybe one right here too then let's switch to our R I'll color in this pixel so I'm trying to space them out and also uh make them random I'm going to color in this one too and this one I like that you're changing your drawing it looks really cool now let's switch to our 33 yellow and maybe I'll just add two sprinkles I've been adding three of each color but this one just might have two.
I'm going to color that one in where are you going to put another one I don't know that's a good spot here yeah that's awesome I like it now we're going to switch back to our pink and we'll color in all of the ice cream but be sure to leave this little backwards l-shape white Hadley we did it we finished drawing and coloring our ice cream cone our pixel ice cream cone turned out awesome yeah we also added a little texture on the conb by layering number 24 over the first layer yeah I like how
that looks yeah me too we also added this thin black line to outline the ice cream drips I like how it looks we need to flip our paper over and remove the grid now you can just see the drawing and it looks really cool you could also finish your drawings by adding a background oh that would be really fun you could add a sun and maybe clouds so it looks like a summer day we hope you had a lot of fun drawing ice cream. we do we hope you had a lot of fun and we'll see you later our friends goodbye.
